Vera : The Art & Life of an Icon

Vera : The Art & Life of an Icon, is our second Mrs Literary Read - a book about a Mrs that I have always fancied. From Miss to Mrs she was prolific and bold - the first Mrs to cross-license her products where they were sold. Her work was so totally show stopping - that she had to prevent others from copying - so her trademark she started dropping. She was wildly creative and rather inventive - she averaged 500 paintings per year - my, how extensive! This book is a treasure, one you'll be glad to own - about this Mrs who was so well known. So go ahead and get your copy - once you begin, you won't be able to stopy!

Now, before we go - let's discuss our thoughts below...

Like I Give A Frock had me laughing non-stop - the humor was fabulous and totally top-notch! From panties to tracksuits I was certainly delighted - the accompanied artwork kept me equally excited! This read was light and fluffy - easy breezy and certainly not stuffy! The books only blunder - is that is was without page numbers - but that was it's only bummer!

I hope you enjoy our next Mrs. Literary Book Club read - Vera : The Art & Life of an Icon, a fabulous book indeed!

I thought Like I Give a Frock was a "beach read." It only took about an hour to make it through all the classically funny fashion advice. The artwork looked like it had been taken directly out of a sketchbook, which I'm always interested in seeing. I must say the best part about it for me wasn't the content, but the actual texture of the paper and binding. I could be called a book nerd for such a statement, but I would wear the title with pride!

Oh! I have a secret (well, not really secret) affection for all of Vera's stuff... I have a small collection of silk scarves, napkins, etc. What lovely and vivid things she designed! Thanks for your cute poetry and a heads-up on the book! FUN!

PS) Secret addiction #2... Anthropologie. Love the settee... I can see I"ve found a new blog to enjoy!
